|Really good run today. I got out pretty early, and there was a nice layer of high clouds. When I reached Garey, I noticed a couple if people sitting in chairs on the side of the road, so I figured there was probably a bike ride in the area. Sure enough, it appeared to be a race rather than a casual ride. I have no idea what race, but I was passed by about a dozen pelotons (sp?). Just after running through Sisquoc, the canyon I ran through seemed to be filled with natural gas for about a mile. Needless to say, this was my least favorite mile. I felt really good on the climb up Palmer Rd., and I was able to run almost all of it. At Clark Rd., I ran into a finish line or a rest stop for the race. Hundreds of people, photographers, spectators, and race officials were there. I had to thread my way through the chaos to get back to my car. I’m happy with the overall pace. 11 miles done before 10am.
