Back to the Dirt!
|It was so nice to get back out on the trails today. I probably should have taken a rest day, but I couldn’t resist running Romero Canyon. Everything smelled beautiful. It was a sunny day, but not too warm (at the time of the run). It was the beginning of a weekend after a demanding week out of town. Just perfect. I have run up to the top and back via the main trail, and I have biked down the canyon, but I have never run directly down the canyon. Romero Canyon is sort of known for it’s technical nature, so I was interested in trying it out. You can run 4 miles up to a fork. If you continue up, it is another 2.5 miles or so to the top of West Camino Cielo, or you can take the fork down into the heart of Romero Canyon. There are big boulders, creek crossings, roots trying to grab your ankles, and nice shade to keep you cool. I loved it. Still sporting the Suunto Ambit2. I like it a lot. I just don’t like the fact that it doesn’t link up to many services I use, but I think I’ll work around that since there is nothing better available. Great way to start the weekend. Great way to end the week.|
