Practicing the Course

In preparing for the SLO Marathon, I figured it would be a good idea to run my 20 miler on the actual course. So that’s what I did. I started out as slow as I could without walking, and I tried to keep it slow for the first half of the run. After that, I picked it up a bit. By mile 15, I was still feeling great, so I picked up the pace even more and stopped looking at my heart rate. It felt great. I shaved exactly 10 minutes off my fastest 20 miler and had a negative split. So, I’m very happy with this one. At the end of the run, I was surprised to find Jill was on her way up to meet me for lunch. That was really cool, and we had some great Thai food. Great way to end. Bing Map
